Overview
Objective:
Design a booklet to promote a chosen typeface and give the typeface a soul.
Approach:
The typeface that I chose was Bodoni, which is a typeface of a slightly condensed underlying structure with flat and unbracketed serifs, and extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes. Massimob Vignelli stated that "Bodoni is one of the most elegant typefaces ever designed.” I combined big Bodoni type with dancers to show the elegance of the letterforms.
Personality
Elegant | Graceful | Majestic | Strong

Booklet design
Working with this font requires care, as the strong emphasis of the vertical strokes and the marked contrast between the fine and thick lines lessens Bodoni’s legibility, and the font is therefore better in larger print with generous spacing.

Poster design
Along with the booklet, I also designed a set of posters to showcase the personality of the typeface. Each poster leads by a key word, the key words are: strong, graceful, evocative, pensive, majestic, free.
